Sodalite

Blue, blue, blue and blue. There are more shades of blue in the sodalite than I’ve seen in any other stone. Blue, dry, and extremely powerful.

It is about 20 years ago I got the first beautiful piece of raw sodalite. I was attracted to it without having any idea why. I left it on the passenger seat and went for a drive. Within minutes my throat started drying out – it escalated rapidly – and I could hardly sense anything but the dry throat. Stopped at a service station and bought some water. It felt like I had been eating chalk. The water didn’t help much – and I started looking for the cause of this weird body sensation. There was no doubt. It came from the sodalite. I took it in my hand, moved it slowly towards the throat – and away again instantly. It was too much. I wrapped it in some paper and put it in the boot. It disturbed my driving too much.

Later on it was one of the stones I got closest to. We got to know each other quite well, and as I slowly opened up to it the dryness in the throat decreased.

If you have any problems in opening your mouth to show who you are, sodalite can be one of the best friends you can find – i.e. if you want to change. If you don’t want a change in how you communicate with the people around you – from close to far out – then stay away from this stone. It just can’t sit still not doing what it is best at – opening your communication.

It is a paradox that in a world where we have chosen to use words as the absolute main means of communication – we at the same time find it so difficult to actually express ourselves.

Paradoxes are interesting – but only doing makes us move.

Use the sodalite raw – unless it is too powerful. The polished ones loose a lot of their intensity and are as such much more gentle to deal with.

Can you take the raw – do it! It works wonders like nothing else.

Get it for yourself. You will be the only one to now which particular piece will be in harmony with you. Don’t give sodalite to anybody as a gift, unless they ask you for it.
