Obsidian of the Earth

I guess the time has come to write about obsidian. Our garden is full of it and I have learned to see other qualities in this amazing stone now that we live close. I used to see the spiritual darkness being transformed into light through the obsidian and I used to have an egg of obsidian as a loyal companion for years. Coming out of emotional darkness and start traveling towards the Sun and the light ended this partnership. I laid the egg where it told me to be left … and took off to other worlds. I traveled many roads and I never met Obsidian again until I stopped traveling and settled with the man I truly love. The first stone to greet us was obsidian – obsidian in raw, huge chunks. It is around us everywhere here and I have got to know it in a totally different way. It is so much more than I ever thought before. Obsidian is the essence of Earth – the basalt. It is the inner cleansing, - the detoxification the Earth needs to go through to survive our polluting attacks. When the Earth is overloaded with negative and hostile stuff it starts the fire and we see a volcanic eruption. Lava thrown up from the center of the Earth burns everything away – and encapsulates the few things that can’t be burnt like for instance the heavy metals. When it cools, the Obsidian is forming into a glass like black stone. Everything else is gone. The heavy metals – if any – will be melted into the stone …. and it will never let them out. They are pacified forever.

The world is raw and new after the eruption – new in a way that can be almost scary. Nothing negative, nothing positive, nothing at all. Everything has literally been wiped out. Nothing can be “newer” than this. This is where we all come from – and where we all are going.

To meet Obsidian is to look into our deepest origin – and that is the nothingness.

Can we find this place inside and dare we go there …. then nothing in life is ever hopeless again. We can go back to a total rebirth – it is for us to choose. Obsidian offers guidance and support to anyone who will walk the path to nothing. It takes away all what was, it knows only this one thing – it is a true master of rebirth.
