Garnet – brought to Earth by Raven

Garnet is life, garnet is blood, garnet is ancient wisdom, garnet is the root. There are many stones on Earth – but hardly any with the connection to humans as the garnet. It is said that in the early days of mankind on Earth the Raven watched over this new creature and fellow being. Raven saw that man wanted wings, that man wanted power, that man wanted control. Raven saw that man was confused over why he was brought to Earth and hence fought many wars. There was one man, Big Chief, who spoke the language of Earth and who made friends with Raven. He told Raven that he could see the way of the heart and see the bliss and joy awaiting mankind if he would stop fighting and controlling. He told Raven he could see why the Earth invited man to live – because of our ability to show and express love. Man was invited to dance the natural energies, to sing them, to laugh with them, to paint them, to give words to them, to spread them, to praise them…. and so man was meant to enhance the energies of Earth, - not to try changing them. Man has the ability and was invited to contribute to the love and beauty coming from the depths of Earth. But man got confused and started fighting instead, - figthing each other, fighting the Earth. Big Chief was sad over the fighting and he often talked with his friend Raven who shared his concerns. All the time he tried to lead his people back to the road of peace. Many loved him dearly but even more saw his love as weakness and they decided to replace him – they wanted a “real” warrior to lead their people to conquer more land and to defeat more enemies. “Enemies?”, - the Big Chief would say, “who are enemies?” We are brothers and sisters, we are family, - and we have to walk the same path of the heart in order to gather our energies. We shall unite instead – all of mankind – in spirit. We can become the biggest army of peace ever seen – no fighting, only walking. – walking and sharing is our destiny. We are fortunate beings, - the golden road is waiting for us to tread – don’t destroy it by talking “enemy talk”.”

They wouldn’t listen to him, they only wanted to fight – and one night a group of them went to his quarter and killed him. Time stopped, nature froze, - even the Earth stopped turning for a short time. The sadness over Big Chiefs blood running over the ground was overwhelming. The murderers looked shamefully at each other and ran away in all directions. No joy came out of the killing, no relief, no nothing – just shamefulness and a sense of hopelessness. His death was mourned in every corner of the world – and confusion grew even stronger. Raven watched this happen and feared that man would destroy himself and all other life on the planet in desperation – nobody can live without hope, and hope was definitely fading away. Raven flew down to his friends dead body and whispered in his ear that he would give hope back to people. A smile grew on Big Chiefs face – and Raven thanked for his approval. Raven sucked up all the blood from Big Chief that had been spilled and he took it to the morning star. Morning Star crystallized all the drops of blood and gave them back to Raven with her blessings. Raven took them back to Earth and dropped them on the whispering clouds – and through them the blood of Big Chief returned to Earth to give hope to mankind. As long as his blood will be here, hope will too. Thanks to Raven – this beautiful being who brought his blood back in the form of garnets – a true and wonderful blessing to all of us..
